The year 2007 was extraordinary for Thumbelina. For nearly seven months, Thumbelina traveled across America in the Thumby-mobile to visit sick, needy, troubled, disabled and abused children. She made hundreds of stops in all 48 continental states to bring hope and comfort to countless children in need of some joy in their lives. It was an amazing experience that we shall never forget.

Friends,

A dear friend of the Thumbelina Charitable Foundation and the Thumbelina Children's Tour is suffering terribly and needs our prayers. His name is John and he has been courageously battling a devastating staph infection that has been ravaging his body for over a month. John has a wife and five beautiful young children. The infection forced John into a coma as it attacked his legs, lungs, heart and brain. Although John is now conscious and seems to be improving, he has a long road ahead of him.

In happier times last spring, John had read in the Washington Post that Thumbelina was touring the country to visit sick children. He found us at a local fundraiser and invited us to dinner at his restaurant near DC (the best Italian food I've ever had). When he learned that we would be in the area for another night, he immediately insisted that we join his family for pizza at home the following evening. John's unending kindness and hospitality was a great comfort to us during our long travels. Please pray that John and his family receive healing and comfort in this difficult time.

Thank you, Handler Mike
